Your Season Will Come

Your season will come…

I speak to you from my heart — not from things I’ve read in a book, but from things I’ve experienced — blood, sweat, tears and faith.

You see, back in 2003 when I was being initiated into the Ifa spiritual tradition — my spiritual godfather, Aseda — the elder in this picture, told me I would write a book one day.

Well, 2003 was 15 years ago. To most people, 15 years is a long time, but to the Spirit world, 15 years is no time at all — it’s not even the blink of an eye.

As you know, my book Meditations Across The King’s River will be published in December. I’m excited about the book and all the spiritual lessons and affirmations I’ll be sharing with you.

In order for me to write a powerful book, I had to have certain experiences. Most of these experiences did not happen overnight. They happened over a long period of time. Spiritual growth is not a race.

Time worked in my favor.

And guess what? I believe time can work in your favor too.

Our society sends us a dangerous message 24/7. It makes us think that everything we aspire to achieve should happen right away, and if it doesn’t happen right away, then something must be wrong with our vision or with us.

Well, that’s a lie, and you shouldn’t fall for it…

Your season will come when it’s meant to come. Just like you can’t plant tomatoes in the winter and expect them to grow in the snow, every vision Spirit gives us must bloom in the right season.

It’s spiritual law, my friend, not man’s law…

Every house needs a strong foundation. Every vision needs a strong foundation too. Your ancestors are trying to lay a strong foundation for you.

And they will also ensure you have all the experience you need. It’s a process — not an overnight job.

Our challenge is to step back and look at our lives from a larger perspective — God’s perspective. Trust the process; continue to have faith despite all the challenges you’ve been facing.

Enjoy the journey and see where it leads.

Until next time.  Talk soon!

I’ll Be Launching My Book Soon

I’m excited to tell you that I will be launching my book soon…

Meditations Across The King’s River: African-Inspired Wisdom For Life’s Journey, will be published later this month, or in early December at the very latest.

I will provide more details in a series of emails that you’ll receive in the upcoming weeks.

As I mentioned before, Meditations Across The King’s River is a collection of inspirational affirmations, but it also includes 16 essays inspired by my travels in Africa and throughout the Caribbean as a priest in the Ifa spiritual tradition.

But there’s more…

To support you in 2019, every month I’ll expand on a core idea in the book and will also share other insights that I did not have time to include in the book. I believe these insights will help you navigate through 2019 with more confidence and peace of mind no matter what spiritual tradition you practice.

If you’re struggling with something right now, have faith and just know there’s a solution for it — even if you can’t see it at the moment. I’ll be sharing a lot of tips in my book and in the months ahead.

I am grateful you are in my life and that our paths have crossed. Please reach out to me if you have any questions. I’ll be in touch with you again very soon.

All my love

Balancing Spiritual and Financial Growth

If you’re struggling financially you’re not alone..

The reality is that most us are struggling for one reason or another, on one level or another but the beautiful thing is we can all take steps to become financially stronger and wiser.

And it starts with financial literacy…

That’s why I decided to include an essay on balancing spiritual and financial growth in my upcoming book, Meditations Across The King’s River.

My book will be published in November (December at the latest).

Meditations Across The King’s River is a collection of inspirational quotes, but it also includes essays inspired by my spiritual journey and travels throughout Africa and the Caribbean.

I chose to include an essay on finances, because its rarely talked about in our community. There’s this pervasive attitude that if you’re a spiritual person, finances will just fall in place by itself.

Well, here’s a wake up call…

A report by the Institute of Policy Studies says “the median wealth for black Americans will fall to $0 by 2053 if current trends continue.”

The report also says that “Latino-American, who are also experiencing a downward wealth slide will hit $0 about two decades later.”

I don’t mean to alarm you. I’m just trying to get a conversation going.

But you don’t have to take my word for it. You can look up the data yourself. There’s tons of it. Can’t go into all the reasons for these trends right now. Not enough time, but I will in the book.

Here’s the thing, If the wealthy are constantly educating themselves and their children about finances (even though they have more than enough), shouldn’t we be educating ourselves too?

That’s what I’m doing…

I’ll share some of the strategies I’m using in Meditations Across The King’s River, but I encourage you to take steps on your own to equip yourself with financial knowledge. You will need it.

For now, I would like to leave you with a few tips for from my friend Tee Francis, a financial healer in Honolulu.

  1. Understand wants versus needs.
  2. Define expenses versus investments.
  3. Understand internal and external factors that lead to debt.
  4. Eliminate fears about finance.

Someone needs to break the cycle of financial hardship in your family. I pray that person is you. If not you, then who?

This is all for now. I’ve got to go. We are putting the final touches on Meditations Across The King’s River. It will be available for purchase very soon. Thanks in advance for your support.

Keep It Moving

You have to keep it moving…

That’s the best advice I can give. We haven’t spoken in a while so I’m not sure what challenges you’re facing these days.

But I can tell you this with 100 percent conviction…

If you follow what your Spirit has been telling you to do, you probably won’t feel as stuck. And you will have more momentum, more peace of mind and more energy to pursue other things that are important to you.

Yes, beloved. Keep it moving. That’s what I am doing.

My upcoming book, Meditations Across The King’s River will be available for purchase in late October, early November. I am excited because I have a lot to share with you. Can’t wait.

I am still working on my film too. Last year, we created a new trailer, assembled a new production team and redesigned our website. You can check it out here: Visit Our Website

Filming in the Bay Area this summer, hopefully the Caribbean this fall, Africa early next year.

Now, I know it’s one thing to say keep it moving, and it’s another thing to actually do it. I don’t know what works for others but I am happy to share what helps me every single day.

Be Patient: Trust in divine timing. Progress does not always mean moving forward, sometimes it means taking a step back, or changing the course of direction. Slow down. Enjoy the journey and allow yourself to be led by Spirit.

Listen Inwardly: Do not let the expectations of others dictate what you should do.The opinions of others are not always relevant to the life lessons you are meant to learn and your soul’s journey. Only you can determine what is best for you.

Renew Your Spirit: Do something to nurture your spirit daily. If you don’t have a daily spiritual practice start one. If you don’t, the negativity of others will throw you off balance and off course. Find a practice that works for you and stick with it.

Chase One Rabbit: My mentors say if you chase two rabbits, you won’t catch any rabbits. But if you chase one rabbit you will succeed. You can’t chase every idea that comes along, even if it’s a good one. Focus on what will deliver the most value.

Eliminate Distractions: Technology should be a tool, not a trap. You don’t have to respond to every single text or phone call immediately. Same thing with the internet. Limit your time. You don’t have to click every update or news feed. Get on and get off.

Hope this helps…

I have to run. I’m busy but never too busy for you. If you respond to this article, I will definitely write you back asap. I guarantee it. Here to support you 100 percent always.

Master Mind, Body and Spirit

I appeared as a guest on Master Mind, Body and Spirit recently…

It’s a show hosted by Matt Belair.  He’s an author, speaker, athlete, coach and speaker.  His show is a top rated podcast on Spirituality on Itunes and has 200 five stars reviews.

Here’s the link to the You Tube Clip: https://youtu.be/6wpPdN3o7DE

We spoke of many things: I shared a bit about my spiritual journey into the Ifa traditions.  But I also spoke about:

  1. How we can keep ourselves grounded with a connection with nature.
  2. Why having a daily spiritual practice is crucial for our spiritual and emotional well being.
  3. Different ways our purpose might be revealed to us.
  4. How progress doesn’t always mean moving forward.
  5. Core principles of the Ifa Spiritual Tradition.
  6. How to live a more purposeful and fulfilling life and more.

I enjoyed talking to Matt.  It was a short, meaningful exchange and I would love to talk to him again when my book, Meditations Across The King’s River is published in November.
