Why You Must Balance Spiritual and Financial Growth

Greetings,

I included a chapter on balancing spiritual and financial growth in my book, Meditations Across The King’s River because I felt it was a conversation we need to have.

…I still feel that way.

And that’s what I said when I was interviewed on the radio show Africa Today about two years ago. If you missed it, you can listen to it here: https://kpfa.org/player/?audio=302530

It’s plain to see how important wealth conversations are now.

…The health and economic crisis that has shaken our world has made this clear.

Recently, a writer for the New York Times said, “the work force that powers our economy today is a low-wage work force that is disproportionately made up of Black women and other women of color. But we don’t take care of them at all.”

The article goes on to say: “Many jobs that were lost may never return. Too many of us could end up working along a Walmart or Amazon supply chain, while not earning enough to shop there.”

I don’t know what your financial situation is, but I do know there are many things we can all do to improve our financial situation even as we continue fighting police brutality and racism.

…I shared a few practical steps in my book.

But it’s not enough to have more information; it’s crucial to act on information.

…And we must also must understand where we are wasting precious time, money and energy.

My life has changed dramatically since I wrote Meditations Across The King’s River.

These days, every single day, I teach others what I am learning — how to make money in the largest financial markets in the world. I’m a trader, and I love it. If you would like more information about trading, reach out to me. I would be happy to mentor you.

My journey has taught me that some communities are light years ahead and others are light years behind when it comes to finances. Not good.

I’ve also learned that you – yes you, can probably be wealthy if you have the right tools, the right discipline, the right mentors, and the right mindset.

Can’t go into everything right now but here are some tips.

1. You must be intentional:You can’t just pray about financial improvement. You must know what steps to take and you must take them consistently. Think about how can your invest your money or save more of it each week.

2. Educate yourself: I teach others, but I also study from successful mentors every week.

3. Expand your circle: If no one in your circle is talking about wealth and/or taking steps to achieve it, expand your circle.

4. Examine your beliefs about money: Too many people have been led to believe that it’s not spiritual to want wealth or strive to achieve it. I disagree. We are all being called to build a nation and we can’t do it if we are constantly struggling. If you want to travel, fund projects you believe in, or buy a home, you’re going to need money.

5. Watch your relationships: If you’re in a troubled, toxic relationship it will be difficult to build wealth because you’ll be too emotionally drained to make wise decisions. Let toxic friends go too.

6..Get a mentor: A mentor can accelerate your learning curve and get you to your goals much faster than you can on your own.

I love talking about wealth. But I also love short newsletters.

So I’ve got to go…

Keep your spirits up.

You deserve better and it’s not too late. Let’s manifest those dreams.

Send me a message and I’ll respond to you asap.

Love
James

P.S. Still available for spiritual readings.

Open Your Doors

Open your doors…
…And keep those doors open…
That’s what my mentor, Dr. Afolabi Epega used to say. His Spirit follows me around everywhere I go, and that’s why I had to share some of his wisdom in my book, Meditations Across The King’s River.

Some Spirits never leave you alone. LoL!

Baba Epega

The photo of Baba in this newsletter was taken when he was a very young man. Baba was a scientist as well as a fifth generation Ifa priest. He taught me the science and the art of Ifa divination.
And he died way too soon…
But his legacy and wisdom lives on. When Baba talks about keeping your doors open, he’s talking about relationships and friendships.
Pay close attention. His message applies to you — it applies to all of us.
Baba strongly felt we should not cling to people who want to leave us. “Never fight to stay in an unproductive relationship or friendship,” he said. If someone close to you wants to leave for any reason, by all means let her or him go. That’s right! Open your doors.
Here’s the thing.
By opening your doors, you make room for a new blessing, or a new relationship or friendship to enter your life. Blessings can’t enter a closed door.
Look! I know it’s not easy to let people go. But sometimes you have to, in order to grow. Like you, I’ve had to say goodbye to some folks. In many cases, I still love and miss them.
It’s painful at times, to be honest…
But then Baba’s words come back to me with clarity and warmth, and I realize that learning how to move on is one of the most important life lessons we all have to learn.
I would love to hear about your experiences in letting go…
So write me and I’ll be sure to write back as soon as time permits.
Until we talk again. All my love to you and your family!

Thank You For Supporting Meditations Across The King’s River

Thank you for supporting the launch of my book Meditations Across The King’s River.

Since we launched the book last weekend, copies have been shipped to countries around the world.

I am grateful for your support of this popular book.

My elders in Africa are working spiritually to get this book in the hands of as many people as possible…

If you didn’t get a chance to order Meditations Across The King’s River yet, you can do so by visiting acrossthekingsriver.com.

Even if you only embrace a few of the spiritual or financial strategies in this book, 2019 can be a better year for you. This book has sixteen essays and powerful affirmations.

In the chapter, Nigeria: Escape and Immersion, I talk about my spiritual journey to Africa with my son, but I also talk about something we all struggle with — and that something is loss.

Loss is painful but it’s part of the human journey; it’s one of the most difficult spiritual lessons to learn. But we all have to learn it.

Loss can come in many ways: death of a loved one, a relationship or friendship, but there are other forms loss.

I can relate to your feelings of loss because I’ve experienced loss too…

But here’s what I’ve learned, Paulette. On a spiritual level, the lessons of loss challenge us to appreciate each moment, and to appreciate who’s still in our life, even though we may still miss those who are not.

Loss also teaches us that like nature, everything in life follows cycles and patterns.

When something ends, a new beginning is on the way, and it can be beautiful even though it’s difficult.

If you’re struggling with loss or anything else, feel free to send me an email…

I’ll respond as soon as I can. I’m slightly behind on emails, but I try to make it a point to respond to all emails I receive.

Again, here’s the link for more information about my book which can be purchased at Balboa Press.com, Amazon and Barnes and Nobles, acrossthekingsriver.com.

Until we speak again, have a safe and wonderful holiday season with your family.

All my love.

We Have Your Back

We have your back…

I’m getting ready to launch my book, Meditations Across The Kings River, in another week or less, and I wanted to let you know I’m grateful you are in my life.

Here’s the truth…

None of us can make it alone. We all need each other, more than we might want to admit at times.

As I share my spiritual journey in my book, I also share strategies to help you on your goals of wellness in 2019: spiritual wellness, emotional wellness, and financial wellness.

Like I said, we have your back…

Plus, every week, I’ll be sharing additional insights that I didn’t have time or space to include in the book. If you implement some of these strategies, you’ll be rocking and rolling in 2019.

The cover of my book was designed by one of the great artists of our times. His name is Mark “Feijao” Milligan.

Feijao grew up across the street from me on the island of St. Croix, but we only met a few years ago because he’s younger than I am.

The cover of my book has great spiritual significance. The golden halos around the heads of the children and the elder indicate these are visitors from the Other World, yet they are also from this world.

I’m also from another world, and so are you. We are all spirits on a mission, and we can and should learn from each other.

The elder is also significant. He has to guide and protect these explorers to make sure they get where they are going. He can’t afford to let them drift off course.

Someone you can’t see is guiding and protecting you. His/her job isn’t necessarily to give you what you want. An elder, or the ancestors, look at the big picture of your life — they need to make sure you stay on track and in alignment with your mission.

If you look back at your life a few years from now, it will become clear to you why certain things happened the way it did. You’ll even figure out why some people had to leave and why some people had to come into your life.

Your spirit guides have High Intelligence, and are experts in their field.

There’s a beautiful plan for you. Don’t get discouraged. You are in good hands. Be confident. Straighten your back. Keep your head up at all times.

I have to run because I am finalizing things for the book launch next week. I know you’ll love Meditations Across The King’s River.
